LACONIA — Laconia Savings Bank believes strongly that we must give back to the communities we call home if they are to remain strong and vibrant places to live and work. That is why our dedication to strengthening our communities — through advocacy, volunteerism, and a commitment to civic leadership – remains such an integral part to the mission of our bank. In the month of May, Laconia Savings Bank provided financial support to the following organizations.

Ageless Dreamer: With LSB's support, the overhead costs associated with running this organization based in Dover will be lessened so that they may continue to focus on fulfilling the life-long dreams of the older generation.

Circle Program: Many children throughout the state struggle with building courage and confidence in themselves. By supporting the Circle Program, LSB lends a hand in helping to develop those skills in girls through year-round mentoring and a residential summer camp.

Daniel Webster Council: Recognizing individuals that give generously of their time is the focus of the Tri-City Area Good Scout Award Luncheon. LSB is providing financial support towards the cost of the awards luncheon.

Girls at Work, Inc: Woodworking is not a class often offered to girls, but Girls at Work empowers girls and women in New Hampshire and throughout New England by teaching them woodworking, design and carpentry skills that challenge their minds and lift their spirits. LSB is providing scholarship money so that more girls will have the opportunity to attend camp and build something from scratch giving them a sense of accomplishment.

HEAR in New Hampshire: Children who are deaf or hard of hearing are provided the opportunity to learn to listen and talk at Hear in NH. LSB is proud to support an organization that works to make communication easier with special needs children.

Laconia Multicultural Market Day: Celebrating the ethnic and cultural diversity of the Lakes Region increases awareness and helps bring together communities. LSB is supporting this annual festival to be held on September 12th which draws thousands for great music, arts, crafts and food.

League of NH Craftsmen: The 76th Annual Craftsmen's Fair will provide a showcase for demonstrations, workshops, performing arts, exhibitions and features. LSB is a craftsmen's tent sponsor of the event which will be held from August 1st through August 9th at the Mount Sunapee Resort in Newbury, New Hampshire.

New Hampshire Institute of Art: With LSB assisting with scholarship aid, the creativity and education for students at the only nationally accredited Fine Arts College in NH and Vermont will continue to thrive.

Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center: Providing educational programs to children on growing green, learning about insects, the importance of water and learning to survive are among some of the topics provided at WildQuest Summer Camp. LSB's scholarship aid supports their educational mission of not leaving any children behind because of an inability to pay.

Rivier College: Providing a wide variety of athletic and fitness programs to the students is a high priority for Rivier College. LSB's financial support will strengthen and enhance the health and fitness options made available.

The Fort at No. 4: Preserving the history of the French & Indian War is the goal at The Fort at No. 4. Looking to reopen their doors in 2010 and continue their tradition of education, the Fort at No. 4 is pleased to receive financial support from Laconia Savings Bank. The fort is located in Charlestown, NH.

Laconia Savings Bank has been serving New Hampshire residents and businesses since 1831. Throughout their history they have provided financial and volunteer support to many worthwhile organizations throughout the state and are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in New Hampshire.
