AGELESS DREAMER'S VISION The mission of the Ageless Dreamer is to make LONG HELD, HEART FELT dreams come true for our oldest generation, encouraging them to dream outloud, enhancing their quality of life.
Through the generosity of those who donate, along with volunteers and staff, we're able to continue to remind caregivers and adult children caring for our elders to remember to ask: Do you have a dream? Then listen closely. The magic of a dream may unfold before your eyes.
These dreams will help to raise the level of the public's awareness of the untapped knowledge and wisdom of our oldest generation. Through our efforts, we will begin to erase the stigma of being older while sparking intergenerational onversations.
INTRODUCING A GENERATION WITH AN ATTITUDE WORTH HAVING®
Founder, Laurie Widmark, came up with the concept for Ageless Dreamer in 2001. Although the idea and research proved it was “brilliant and cutting edge”, it lacked the mechanism to make it happen. File folders and research were put in storage boxes. In 2004, the idea for Ageless Dreamer, as a business, resurfaced and the concept evolved into a non profit 501(c)3 organization.
Built on the wings of a New Hampshire attorney, born 1921 and who continues to practice law, responded when asked to serve on the Board of Trustees..."my fear is if I don't say yes, it won't happen." It was at that time, that a group of interested dreamers organized in January 2006 to bring the Ageless Dreamer to fruition. The Board of Trustees look forward to introducing new members to a generation with 'an attitude worth having.' Located in Dover, New Hampshire, the Ageless Dreamer efforts work to help in redefining the face of 'old age'.
We are confident that this will begin to happen as we highlight images of Ageless Dreamers® living their dream. The younger generations will begin to see their parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, and neighbors in themselves and realize that dreams do not have expiration dates.
